PRP Hair Treatment

(Platelet Rich Plasma)

Platelets, essential cell fragments crucial for blood clotting, also play a pivotal role in producing various growth factors. Conversely, plasma comprises liquid components like proteins, minerals, hormones, and water. Harnessing the reparative and healing effects of platelets on damaged tissues, PRP treatment serves as a rejuvenation therapy across various body areas. The healing impact of platelets is attributed to the growth factors they release. This characteristic has not only propelled PRP into a method for treating hair loss but also for promoting hair growth post hair transplantation.

PRP hair treatment is not a solution for permanent hair loss; the only enduring remedy is a hair transplant. Instead, PRP focuses on fortifying weakened and thin hair by targeting hair follicles. This process involves extracting a person’s own blood, enriching it with platelets using specialized methods, and injecting plasma rich in platelets and growth factors into the subcutaneous layer where hair follicles are situated. Recognized globally, PRP stimulates hair follicles, promoting growth and strength. It is acknowledged as a supportive therapy effective in reducing hair loss in both men and women. Optimal results are achieved when paired with hair mesotherapy, which nourishes follicles by injecting necessary vitamins and minerals into the scalp.

This treatment supports and enhances hair health, suitable for individuals over 18, especially those grappling with genetic hair loss and concerned about lifeless and weak hair.

How is PRP hair treatment done?

The needles used during a PRP hair treatment are very thin. Although a slight tingling sensation may occur during the procedure, the sensation of pain can vary depending on people’s pain threshold, while most people feel no pain at all during a PRP hair treatment.
Based on the necessary examinations and evaluations, persons deemed suitable for PRP hair treatment are informed in detail about the procedure and its results. PRP treatment, which is subject to certain stages, takes place as follows:

First, an average of 10 to 20 cc (ml) of blood is taken from the patient - two to four tubes of blood.

The blood taken from the patient is placed in a centrifuge and the blood components are separated using special protocols. The centrifugation process lasts on average between 15 and 20 minutes, and each protocol is individual for a specific patient.

The resulting plasma rich in platelets and growth factors is drawn into syringes and prepared for the PRP treatment process itself.

The resulting plasma rich in platelets and growth factors is injected into the hair follicles with fine-tipped needles and the process is complete.

What does the hair recovery process look like after PRP?

After PRP hair treatment, the patient can continue his normal life from where he left off. It is not a procedure that requires a hospital stay.
The hair must not be washed for the first 3 hours after the treatment. Chemical hair styling products should not be used on the first day after PRP hair treatment.
